Gerber Life Insurance

(This is a sponsored post.)

Anyone who has had a baby knows that Gerber offers life insurance for infants and young children. What I bet you didn’t know is that they also offer term life insurance for adults. (Surprised? I sure was!)

If you are like me, you probably don’t know a lot about insurance, and wonder whether term or whole life coverage is the way to go? I actually found a great piece in Smart Money online that explains the difference between the two types of coverage, and why term is the better option for most people. (CNN Money also answered the term vs. whole life debate .) In short, whole life is way more expensive because its like forced investing. True you can’t borrow against a term policy, but you are also paying so much less that you come out way ahead with a term plan.

If you are an adult between the ages of 18-60, Gerber offers term plans ranging from 10-30 years, and coverage between $25,000 to $150,000. You call for a term life insurance quote, lock in at a specific low rate during this period, and your premiums are guaranteed not to increase. Once you come to the end of the term, you will have the option to renew annually(no medical checkup is required), and rates are based on your age. Once you are signed up you have 30 days to review your policy, and you can cancel within that 30 days if you decide the plan is not right for you.

You can sign up online for free term life insurance quotes, or call 1-800-704-2180 and speak with a representative who can help you decide what kind of coverage is best for you and your family. The call costs you nothing, and the peace of mind from knowing your family is secure should the unexpected happen is priceless.

I remember coming home from the hospital w/ my little bundle… Sifting through the stack of paperwork they hand out and running across that disturbing little baby insurance pamphlet.

Good advice on the term/whole thing – I never knew.

I’m a strong believer in life insurance, whatever kind you get. I also didn’t know that Gerber had insurance for adults.
