The New Kid on The Block..Errr..Blogosphere.

I was recently introduced to a blogger who is actually the daughter of a good online friend of mine. I went to check her out when she got her new place set up and it was pretty bare, with the bloggy equivalent of boxes still stacked and eating pizza off of paper plates. Cute place, but still needed to be unpacked and decorated.

I swung by tonight, and not only is the place now looking like hers, she has a really fantastic post up that everyone reading this needs to go check out. I wasn’t sure what to expect from her, but with this one post she has earned a permanent place in my feed reader!

Please go check out Bcuziwant2’s blog and her oh-so-been-there-done-that post called ‘The Morning Grind‘. Be sure to welcome her to the neighborhood! ;)

All new readers are welcome, and I hope you will consider subscribing to my RSS feed or better yet, Subscribe via email for daily delivery!

GTX- Mother’s Friend, Teenger’s Worst Nightmare

(This is a sponsored post.)

Here’s a shocking confession for you- I was not a model teenager. I was a bit bad actually. Gasp, sputter, shock!

(Ok, maybe not so shocking.)

While I didn’t do any drugs or steal cars or anything, I was not adverse to a midnight foray into places I had no business being, particularly when I was supposed to have been sleeping in my grandmother’s guest room when I went for visits. I did sleep mind you, but generally not until I’d climbed back into the window around 4 or 5am, exhausted and ready to catch 3 hours of sleep, usually ending in a headache and a great story to tell my friends come Monday.

As a teenager it was cool as heck. As a mother of an about-to-be-10-year-old daughter I cringe at the things I did back then. 3 or 4 years down the line this could be MY child doing these things! While my gut reaction is to lock her in a closet in a chastity belt, I know eventually I will have to let her out once in awhile.

When that day comes, I’m pretty sure I will be investing in GPS tracking devices to keep an eye on her whereabouts. With devices now so small they can be built into a tennis shoe or clipped onto a backpack, there will be no reason not to be able to log online and check to be sure she’s where she says she’ll be. Not only will I be able to see where she is, I could also check where she has been previously, quite neatly disposing of the “Mom, I DID run to the store!”, where the side trips to the boyfriend’s house have been omitted. Umm, not that I ever did that. Ahem.

With any luck and a lot of help from modern technology, it may be possible to help keep my kids out of the kind of trouble I got into at that age. Ok, probably not, but a mom can dream, right?

Do You Believe in Magic?

I watched a movie tonight called “Broken English”. In the movie, a woman who can’t figure out why she is still single meets a visiting Frenchman and they spend a torrid few days together. He goes back to France, and she decides she needs to know if he is The One, so she heads off to go find him. Naturally Murphy’s Law kicks in, and she loses his number, and spends the next few days there exploring the city and discovering herself. A quote from one of the movie scenes really struck me, so I thought I’d share it..

Most people are together just so they are not alone. But some people want magic. I think you are one of those people.

When it comes to marriage and relationships, do you believe that kind of magic can happen, or is it just one for the movies?
And because I am obsessed with lolcats these days, this one reminded me of the movie, so throwing that in for free. (Anyone else think there should be a 12-step program for that site??)
